isn't he cute?

I mean, I know you can't see him - but trust me. He's cute! Here is the update we got on our little boy this week:

"A is a super neat kid! He has many nicknames...but thankfully just one fun personality! A is out going, friendly and has about ten different smiles he is working on! (all gums right now!) He has an extremely expressive face and mouth and seems to want to talk the way he is constantly contorting his mouth! A will twist his tongue and mouth together to make all kinds of cute noises!”

It's so nice to get updates on our little boy. It's fun to know what he's doing and learning. I'm so thankful for these!

We also heard that A's mom went to court this week to officially relinquish him. It gives me mixed emotions. I feel a huge amount of relief to know that this second to last piece of paperwork is done. But, I can't help but think of what his mom is going through right now. I know this must be breaking her heart. I know she'll be thinking of A every day. I hope we can express how blessed we feel that she is entrusting us with her son. We count it a blessing to be Eli's parents.

Oh, these posts are always such a mixed bag. You want to say YAY, you are one step closer but then the reality is that she had to do something soooo painful. We can never comprehend the selfless acts of these women. You are indeed blessed to be his mama. I can't wait for you to pass court and get him home!!!!

What a fun update! And we are praying a huge blessing on A's birthmom as she deals with all that's going on. We'll pray that she has peace, and also that you and Ben have peace about all this as well. God is good, and we are so excited for the day that God brings Eli to you!

I have nothing unique to say because I (as usual) ditto everything Em' said...

But I do have to say congratulations because it is due!

A will be in your arms so soon! I hope his birthmother is at peace with her decision. I know you guys will be great parents!

What an intense crazy emotional rollercoaster this world of adoption is. Seriously. Hopefully that gets things moving for your little guy to get home. I don't know that our emotions on it all will ever be completely settled, but what a blessing we are embarking on. Great news!

What a completely selfless act on the part of A's birth mother. Doesn't it make you love her so much, even though you may never meet her? I just have to take joy in the fact that our child's birth mother will somehow be given amazing strength during this time. I also, believe, that God will perform a miracle and allow her to feel peace about her decision, knowing that her child (and now our child) will be loved beyond measure.

Praying for you (all three of you) and A's birth mom.

Thinking of you and all the court process families- hoping you all hear more good news soon!

I hope you hear soon about court. I understand how you feel about his birth mother. All I could think was how much Gabre's birth mom must love her to go through all those emotions and still show up at court.

Just wanted to say that I'm thinking about you guys and praying for your process. I'm sure it's a very difficult and frustrating time right now, so I certainly pray for peace and stability, and of course a quick and positive resolution for you and your little guy.
